Deep Tissue Massage builds on the Swedish Swedish base so muscles are warmed and there is flow to the massage but incorporates deeper pressure in areas of tension. This pressure may be cross fibre mobilisation, trigger point, deeper compression, stretches and produces a feeling of "Good Pain". We always use a pain scale to ensure we work within your pain threshold and clients must provide feedback in this process. We may also use heat or natural anti-inflammatory creams in the treatment.

Remedial Massage involves postural assessment to identify muscles imbalances. Imbalances can be caused by hypertonic (tight) or hypotonic (weak) muscles, fascia tension, or bone mis-alignement.
An assessment may involve checking leg length, spine and hip alignement, range of motion and asking about the client's general activity. Hot stone or hot rock massage is a speciality massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated basalt stones as an extension of their hands as well as placing the hot stones on the body. The heat can be deeply relaxing and help to warm and release tight muscles allowing the therapist to work the muscles without applying deep pressure. Sports massage is technically massage administered pre or post event, usually within the hour. However many sports people benefit greatly from a regular massage focussed on the specific needs that are generated from their sporting activities. Techniques are drawn from Deep Tissue and Remedial, often with more of a focus on lengthening and releasing muscles. Met's and PNF stretches are of particular benefit.
